In today’s day and age it is vitally important to have a professional website presence, and this includes having a responsive site and mobile version. Responsive websites simply mean they “respond” to the environment (device) on which a website opens up in, whether it be a full-size desktop computer, laptop, or tablet. Mobile sites are just that - websites designed to work on the various cell phones on the market, including Android, Windows and Apple devices.

So what exactly goes into making a website?

The first thing you need to decide on is your domain name and where the site will be hosted.  Here at Hartlines, we can set everything up for you, including full hosting services at minimal prices.  Next, you need to decide upon is how big of a presence do you need. In other words, do you need just a one-page supersite, or a website featuring a full commerce store, or is a simple 3-4 page sufficient to advertise your product or services? A third, but very important step, is breaking your services or products down in order to clearly get the message across to your customers. If you are selling hundreds of products online, you are going to need a fully search-able data base and an e-commerce function, but also a set of simply designed pages customers can easily look through to find what they need. If you offer a variety of services, you will need to clearly outline what those services include. Next, is putting everything together, including professional-looking images and/or videos, social links, information about your business or services, and of course contact information. Finally, you need to get your website “search-able” - in other words, just because you publish your website does not automatically means your customers are able to find it. A critical part of website design includes strong SEO (Search Engine Optimization) attributes. Depending on your advertising budget, adding such things as Google AdSense is another option, but does not always guarantee higher profitability either.
